Small Changes to Contribution Limits for 2014
In 2014, the maximum amount you may defer from your salary is $17,500 or 100% of your includible compensation (as defined by the Program and the Internal Revenue Code), whichever is less.
The Special 457(b) catch-up contribution amount remains the same in 2014, which means you can contribute up to a maximum of $35,000 to the Program if you are within three years of normal retirement age. The additional amount you may be able to contribute under the Special 457(b) catch-up contribution will depend upon the amount that you were able to contribute in previous years but did not.
The age 50 catch-up contribution remains at $5,500 in 2014, which means you can contribute up to a maximum of $23,000 to the Program if you are age 50 or older during the 2014 calendar year.
If you are eligible for both catch-up options, you may not take advantage of both in the same year.
You can change your contribution amount by logging into this website and clicking the My Account tile, then Paycheck Contribution, then Change Paycheck Contribution.
